01 · Overview

Where it is & what it feels like

Hutto sits on US-79 just east of Round Rock. The old downtown has historic brick buildings, and the Co-Op District next to it has become the dining and events hub. Hippo statues are all over town, a nod to local legend.

The big story is jobs. Samsung's multibillion-dollar semiconductor campus in Taylor is about 10 minutes east, and Round Rock's employers are 15–20 minutes west. That has brought fast growth, new schools and new retail along US-79 and SH-130.
