01 · Overview

Where it is & what it feels like

Woodstone Village is a 1970s–80s neighborhood in Southwest Austin's 78749 ZIP code, tucked along Brodie Lane just south of William Cannon Drive, with Eskew Drive and Croftwood Drive running through it. Boone Elementary sits on Croftwood, right inside the neighborhood.

It feels settled and quiet: one-story ranch homes under big live oaks, original-owner homes next to recently renovated ones. There's no pool or clubhouse and no HOA to fund one, but a big public park, Costco, the Sunset Valley shops and a new garden café are all within a few minutes. I live in Woodstone Village myself, so ask me anything about the streets.

What you'll find here

The housing stock

Mostly one-story ranch homes built from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, many already updated with new kitchens, baths and flooring. You'll also find a few duplexes and attached homes, which can be a lower-cost way in.

Lots run roughly 6,000–7,000 sq ft with mature trees, so there's room for a garden, a patio or a future addition.
